Jordyn McKey

Jordyn McKey, Miss North Carolina USA 2023, is a resident of Charlotte, NC. She has a deep admiration for self development and helping others find their divine purpose in life through her campaign of #soulapproval. 
 
Jordyn was pinned as an outstanding Marketing graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2020. She currently works for the global leading women’s health company, Hologic. She is 1 of 6 surgical specialists in the country for an innovative surgical procedure that helps women combat uterine fibroids. She has a passion for empowering women in healthcare and the corporate world. 
 
During her year she wants to help be a driving force for unparalleled support with mental health in schools and form a curriculum that is set in place for students throughout their entire education. Jordyn hopes to be an example of #beboth which advocates for others to not confine themselves to one label in life. She plans to set this standard by being a woman in pageantry, corporate America, and healthcare.

Fun Facts

  • I have two standard poodles, Frankie and Finley. Frankie is a rescue, and I consider them both to be my biological siblings.
  • I was born with one kidney.
  • I’m a self proclaimed comedian.
  • I have been a VIP guest and volunteer for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
  • I was a freelance makeup artist through high school and college.
  • I started Soul Pageantry where I coach and mentor young women in pageantry.

And if the crown is crooked, wear it anyway 👑 Life has been non stop lately and I often question if I’m doing a good job or finding time to do the things I want between balance of work and everything else life has thrown at me as of late. I’m always one to remain open and honest and I think it’s important that I share that I’ve been feeling as though I’m treading water and doing everything possible to keep my head afloat. But I have to remind myself of the rule of thirds. You are allowed to have a particularly rough day, you’re allowed to have an OK day, and we always welcome great days. And if your ratio for those three is equal then you’re doing OK. A lot of Olympic athletes trained this way. I know I am capable and I’m honored to have the opportunity to do everything in life that God has put in my path.
